The Timing Constraints Table

The Timing Constraints Table provides a means to easily view, and apply eligibility constraints to selected sets of polygons. The attributes of this table are a follows:

Table 18. Timing Constraint Table Attributes

AttributeDescription
UNITThe Timing Constraints table is linked to a column in the Block Attribute table. The UNIT column will show one row for each unique value from the parent table.
ZONEThe ZONE column establishes groupings of rows that should share common timing constraints. Initially the zone field will contain the same value as the UNIT field, meaning that each row should have independent timings. The value in the zone field can be changed, and when set the row will share the timings from other rows that have the same ZONE value.
PERIODnThere is one column for each planning period. The cells of the table contain values of 0, 1 or 2. See the following section for a descriptions of these values. When displayed in the Timing Constraints editor, these values are shown as green, yellow and red respectively.

The table can be joined to the block table by the 'UNIT' column. The 'ZONE' column can be used to group multiple rows together so that their timing constraints are synchronized.

The table displays columns for each planning period (labeled from 'PERIOD0' to the highest period number). The values in the period columns are restricted to the values 0, 1 and 2. These values only have meaning when the constraints are applied (by clicking on the apply button, or calling the apply method). When the values are applied, the following actions take place:
