Name

loadSrnvTargets — This script will assist in defining reports and setting targets for the Ontario Landscape Guide prescriptive indicators.

Overview

This script will assist in defining reports and setting targets for the Ontario Landscape Guide prescriptive indicators. The script activates a wizard that will gather information about the indicator of interest, read in the SRNV definition file, and then format out the report and target settings.

The wizard gathers the following information:

  1. The name of the CSV file containing the SRNV data values. This file has been compiled by the OMNR Landscape Book Science Team. For a copy of this file contact Phil Elkie. The file is distributed as an Excel spreadsheet, and must be converted to CSV format for use in this program. In addition, a heading row must be added to specify column headings. Contact SPS for information about the conversion process and the format of the heading row.

  2. By default the script will only load the prescriptive indicators that are typically used within Patchworks. Enable the checkbox to have the script load all of the evaluative indicators.

  3. The location of interest. Select the geographic region of interest.

  4. The name of the category of indicator to load.

  5. A set of templates that are used to describe the filename, account names and report titles. These templates are the basis for the names and titles that are output by the script. Special substitution characters may be included in the template strings that will be replaced by location names, category names, sub-class names, or indicator names. The use of template strings substantially reduces the amount of typing required to specify report names and labels.

The following substitution characters are recognized:

    • %l - FMU or region name

    • %C - Original class name

    • %c - Class name with spaces removed

    • %s - Subclass name

    • %I - Original indicator name

    • %i - Indicator name with spaces removed

    • %r - Range of values being used (full or quartile)

  6. Whether full srnv range or 25/75 quartile target values should be used.

  7. Whether upper targets should be activated or not.

Once the parameters are specified, the wizard will show the code that represents the report and scenario definitions. Copy the code and paste into the appropriate location in a PIN file or scenario definition file.
