Densify roads

The build road matrix tool will create nodes at the end points of the line segments. Very long uninterrupted roads may travel through a block polygon, but have no "on ramp" linkage points in the neighbourhood. Densification is the process of splitting long road segments in to a series of short road segments, thus adding more end points in to the interior of the original line. Use densification to define a sufficient number of segments and nodes over the planning area to ensure the all blocks will have a realistic forwarding distance from an entry point. Check the documentation of your GIS software on how to carry out this step.
