Empty lists are now allowed. Literal empty lists must be wrapped within the aslist type hint in order to identify the data type of the list.
Previously empty lists were not allowed. However, empty lists can result from filter functions that do not match any of the elements. If the input to the filter function is a literal then the compiler will reduce the result to a literal empty list, wrapped in an aslist function having the appropriate type hint.
Patchworks no longer supports running under a 32-bit version of Java. All Patchworks customers who have contacted technical support over the past 5 years have been running on the 64-bit platform. The occasional client that uses 32-bit java quickly runs in to problems and the advice has always been to upgrade to the 64-bit version.
This means that the latest version of Patchworks will not install or run on a 32-bit OS. If you are using a 32-bit version of Windows-10 or Windows-7 you will need to update to 64-bit. Note that Microsoft ended mainstream support of Windows 7 in 2015. Although a 32-bit version of Windows 10 is still available, Microsoft is not distributing a 32-bit version of Windows 11. The platform has moved on.
MrSID imagery is now supported on the 64-bit platform. Previously MrSID image display was only available on the 32-bit platform.
