Adding Optional Elements to the PIN file

A basic PIN file could be saved now and used to load your model by clicking the 'Show Code' button in the Optional Elements dialog and saving the file to the appropriate starting location. This PIN file would be very basic; with enough information to locate the required data files and a default map layer.

Our example will continue on to add a few more elements to our model using the PIN Builder; harvest patch size accounts and transportation accounts. This will allow us some more control over the spatial distribution of the allocation as we saw in Quick Tour II (Quick Tour Part II: Transportation and Patches ). Follow along in the next sections to define the elements required to create patch size accounts, load proximal topology, define threshold search distance, specify destinations, products and transportation cost accounts. Optional elements can be added to a basic PIN file by following the dialog windows for Groups, patches, roads and topology. These elements are explored in more detail in Using Patchworks . A basic PIN file can be saved using the 'Show Code' button and saving file to the appropriate folder location.
