Report Output and Formatting

A Range Report will automatically generate three formats: HTML, PNG and CSV. Each of these sub-reports is formatted and organized similar to other reports in this section. NO file extension should be specified when defining a filename, as the three files are created for each report.

The CSV sub-report contains comma separated text values which can easily be read into any text editor or spreadsheet application. This is the simplest formatting, with the first row representing the column headings (full attribute names), and each subsequent row beginning with the range label and ending with the row TOTAL. The following example was taken from the defined range "ageClass" above using a Range Report format.

	MANAGEDOFFSET,feature.Area.managed.DF,feature.Area.managed.LA,feature.Area.managed.PL,feature.Area.managed.SEFA,
	feature.Area.managed.SW,feature.Area.managed.SWWet,TOTAL
	Regen,0,0,0,0,0,0,0
	0 - 20,48,2,2370,1551,531,0,4502
	20 - 40,376,0,3477,1367,695,0,5915
	40 - 60,16,0,2345,3593,475,0,6429
	60 - 80,93,0,8597,1423,1692,2,11807

The HTML table created by the Range Report holds identical information to the CSV report, however it is presented in a well formatted table with clear headings and columns. Column headings in the table are derived from the columnPrefix parameter according to the following recipe:

Figure 145. Range Report Table in HTML format

The figure shows an example of the table portion of the HTML report. The colour-coded areas show columns derived from attribute names (green), range headings (orange), cell values (Tan) and range totals (blue).

The default report created by the Report Writer is the HTML version. This particular report contains the above table as well as, a title with appended scenario name, embedded PNG bar chart, optional HTML text or data, a link to the CSV sub-report and link to an Index Report.

The PNG sub-report shows a stacked bar chart with one bar for each range, and one stack for each unique attribute. The Y-axis is automatically scaled to fit the data and labelled with the units paratmeter. The X-axis displays the range labels defined in the "RangeLabel" definition in the PIN file. A legend is created to the right identifying the attributes present in the chart.

The stacked bar chart is automatically created and embedded in the HTML document. See the General Report Format for the layout of common reports. If additionalHTML data or text was included it would appear beneath this chart.
