Changing the time period of interest

Patchworks is primarily designed to analyze and manipulate spatial and temporal data. Maps obviously depict spatial data, and the Map Viewer contains controls that simplify access to temporal data.

The Map Viewer renders spatial data using symbols that are obtained by combining attribute table values with thematic classifications. It is possible to tell the Map Viewer which time period should be used to compute the attribute values. In this way the map viewer can display forecasts of the state of the forest for any planning period.

The slider bar on the right side of the Map Viewer controls the time period of interest. There is one division on the slider bar for each period of the simulation, including period zero which depicts initial conditions prior to the start of the simulation. Move the slider bar control up or down to change the time period represented in the map.
