The Performance Table

The Performance Table is also accessed from the View menu on the main Patchworks window. This table contains a list of all defined targets in the model and whether they are active with a minimum or maximum target. The performance table is intended to help in the interpretation of simulation performance. The values present in each cell for each period of the planning horizon correspond to whichever item is selected from the Indicator menu. These items correspond to all the fields in the target table.

To interpret simulator results, set the 'Indicator' to 'OBJECTIVE'. This will show the number that are going in to the objective function (as a combination of deviation and weight). Click on the 'ACTIVE' column heading, and sort in descending order, and all the active targets will be shown in the top rows. You can examine these values to get an idea of the relative importance of each target. The ones with higher values will compete more strongly. The more red the cell is shaded, the more positive the number, the more blue the cell is shaded, the more negative the number. The highest number indicates the objective that is hardest to acheive. You can adjust the weights on the targets to influence the values, and this in turn will influence the decisions made by the scheduler.
