Group Summary Accounts

A group is a set of blocks that is identified by a common alphanumeric label. Group accounts are simply summary accounts for a particular subset of blocks, such as specific geographic areas (e.g. watersheds or landscape units) that divide the entire planning area, or for specific initial stand conditions (e.g. all blocks of a specific site type). By establishing accounts for specific groups you will be able to define target objectives for that area of the management unit. Consider an example of sensitive watersheds may benefit from lower harvest volumes, whereas the harvest volume of the entire unit must be maintained at a certain minimum level. We could create a group account on the watershed to limit the maximum rate of harvest in this area, and a summary account on the whole forest to define the minimum sustainable harvest level.
